You should have them say that they won't download OR install.Ĭhrome gets installed in a computer using Google installer,so how can we avoid it.If we block googleinstaller.exe, the other google programs cannot be installed.Any suggestions? Note that the site reads that this blocks installing but that part does not seem to work for usĬhrome gets around your policy by them needing to download but not install. If anyone is interested the site is below I have only found a way through Group Policy to stop them from running Chrome but have not found a way yet to stop them from installing. Besides my users sign a document stating that they will not download and install programs without prior approval of IT but that has not stopped them. For that reason we have to block it here. Also our software vendors will not support Chrome but only IE. ![]() The Chrome browser does not work correctly in several of our Web applications. if the app can't gain access to the install folders then it cant function. so if an app needs to access the user folder /x/x then password protect the folder. ![]() ![]() I say restricting it in a way so that the folders that it needs to install to are restricted. why is it that you want to stop users from using a faster more secure web browser than IE? I understand defaults and we have software that only likes IE.
